Book Tour Update (Part 4)

January 9, 2019 Leave a Comment

January 12, 2019 – 12 Rounds in Lo’s Gym Reading / Book Signing

(Northsire Bookstore, Saratoga Springs, New York); 7pm.

If you are in Saratoga Springs this weekend, please join us for what will likely be the final reading/signing in our 15-stop “12 Rounds in Lo’s Gym Book Tour.” The event will take place at Northsire Bookstore, located on 424 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, New York. I will be reading from select passages in the book and talking about life and boxing in the Appalachian region. Copies of the book will be for sale and I will be honored to sign them.

Thank You!!!

In December of 2018, I signed an advance contract for my third book. I can’t say much about it at this point but I will call it a “passion project” of the grandest scale (I’ll make an official announcement on this website when possible). As I prepare for the travel and research required for this project, I will likely be taking a break from readings/signings. Therefore, I wanted to take a brief moment to thank everyone that made 2018 an amazing year for me.

First, I want to thank everyone that bought a copy of “12 Rounds in Lo’s Gym,” attended one of my events, helped spread the good word on social media, or was kind enough to send me an email or message of encouragement. Your love is appreciated. I would like to thank ESPN 104.5 The Team, CBS6 Upstate Sports Edge, WVCR-FM The Saint, PCTV21/”Shelf Life,” The Charleston Gazette, The Albany Times Union, WV Graffiti, The Wheeling Intelligencer, The Webster Echo, News Pages, and Kirkus Reviews for covering my events and reviewing my book. I also thank all of the gracious hosts that made the “Lo’s Gym Book Tour” possible: Siena College, SUNY Albany, Marshall University, Ohio University, Little Book House (Albany, NY), City Books (Pittsburgh, PA), Taylor Books (Charleston, WV), The Conference on College Composition and Communication, The Conference of the Appalachian Studies Association, The Conference of the Sport Literature Association, The New York State Writer’s Institute, The Ohio County Public Library, Barnes & Noble (Morgantown, WV and Colonie, NY), and Northsire Bookstore of Saratoga Springs. I thank the entire staff at West Virginia University Press, particularly Abby Freeland, Derek Krissoff, and my editor Andrew Berzanskis. And last but not least, I want to thank all of the boxers, writers, and celebrities that participated in the interview series that helped build to the official release of “12 Rounds in Lo’s Gym.” If you are new to my website, links to the interviews are listed below.
